Communication

Audio

Text

If you often communicate with older people and with children, you will find experience in one and innocence in the other.

Moral: Experience is learned from the elderly, and purity from the child. Every stage of life has something to teach us.

Language

Text

Language is a flower; it grows in the mouth,

without care and nourishment, it withers.

Moral: If the language is not protected, it will wither and disappear like a flower that is not watered. Keeping your mother tongue alive means using it lovingly every day.

Silence

The answer to some questions is silence.

Either it's not the time for an answer,

or the person asking has not earned a reply.

Darvish Jalal Ruhavi

Moral: You do not have to answer every question. Sometimes the time has not come, and sometimes the person before you is not worthy of an answer.

The Silent Corridor

Text

There were two organizations working together — one was the sponsor, the other was the project development agency.

The project team worked tirelessly for months, prepared the documents, and one day, when everything was ready, they sent the materials to the sponsor and began to wait for a response. Days passed, weeks passed. The result — silence.

The uncertainty within the team grew, spreading like a shadow along the corridor:

“Have the documents arrived? Have they been reviewed?”

No one knew. Inquiries to the sponsor brought only evasive, uncertain answers.

A few months later, the team decided to go directly to the sponsor’s office to clarify the matter. There, the truth finally emerged:

“Yes, we received the documents, but we have not accepted them. The submission format was wrong, and the required procedure hadn’t been followed.”

The team froze in place.

“Why didn’t you tell us that?” they asked.

“We could have corrected it right away.”

Frustrated, the employees returned to the office and complained to their management:

“We should have followed up, checked the status, and spoken clearly with the other side. Our time and effort were wasted, and our trust was shaken because the corridor between us stayed silent.”

Moral: When communication is unclear, even the best work can go unnoticed. When there is no consistent follow-up, even the strongest partnership weakens. Sometimes the greatest harm to a partnership is done not by failure, but by silence.

The Right Words at the Right Time

Text

Whoever can say a word in its proper place will not be forced to apologize.

Moral: Weigh a word before you say it, so that you will not have to apologize later. The right words at the right moment are precious.

Speak What You Know

Audio
Image
Text

Share what you know without lecturing others. Listen carefully without assuming that everything you hear is true.

Silence does not prove ignorance, any more than endless talk means knowing a great deal. Belittling someone is foolish; excessive flattery shows a lack of courage.

Moral: Speak honestly, listen thoughtfully, and know when to be silent. See people as they are, without contempt or flattery.

The Candles’ Conversation

Audio
Image
Text

Four candles burned in a room so quiet that their voices could be heard.

The first candle said, “I am FAITH. But no one helps me keep burning. I think I will soon go out.”

Its flame dwindled until it went out altogether.

The second candle said, “I am LOYALTY. Sadly, no one needs me anymore. There is no reason for me to keep burning.”

As soon as it finished speaking, a gentle breeze put it out.

The third candle spoke sadly. “I am LOVE. I have no strength left to burn. People have forgotten me, and my worth has disappeared. Even those closest to me have forgotten how to love.”

LOVE could no longer endure it and went out too.

Just then, a child entered the room and saw the three dark candles. “Why aren’t you burning? Weren’t you supposed to burn forever?” the child asked, beginning to cry.

The fourth candle spoke. “Don’t be afraid. As long as I am burning, we can light the others again. I am HOPE.”

The child’s eyes sparkled with joy. Taking the candle of HOPE, the child relit the others one by one.

Moral: When faith, loyalty, and love go out, hope is what lights them again. If we protect the light of hope, the other values will revive too.

The One Who Knows and the One Who Does Not

Audio

Text

(Chinese Proverb)

Those who do not know and recognize it yearn to learn. Teach them.

Those who know but do not realize it are asleep. Awaken them.

Those who do not know, and do not know that they do not know, are ignorant. Stay away from them.

Those who know and know that they know are leaders. Follow them.

Moral: Teach the one who yearns to learn, awaken the one who is heedless, stay away from the ignorant who thinks he knows everything, and follow the one who really knows.

The Shepherd's Word

Audio
Image
Text

Once upon a time, in a village, there lived a poor but honest shepherd named Hasan. One day, the village agha called him and said:

“Hasan, I hear you know the mountain pastures well. Look after my herd this summer. If in the autumn my animals come back healthy and well fed, I’ll give you a cow.”

Hasan agreed. All summer, through rain and heat, he tended the herd and kept watch at night without closing his eyes. In the fall, he brought the animals home even fatter and healthier than before.

Hasan came to the agha, hoping to receive the promised cow. The agha smiled mockingly and said:

“I never meant to give you a cow. I only said that to motivate you to work. Besides, what would a poor man like you do with one?”

Hasan's eyes filled with tears. But he answered calmly and with dignity:

“You’re right that I’m poor. But I have a conscience, and I am the master of my word. You may have money, but if your word has no value, you are the one who is truly poor.”

The story spread through the village. People lost respect for the agha and avoided doing business with him. Too late, he learned that a person’s worth is set by loyalty to one’s word, not by wealth or position.

Moral: A person’s true wealth is not property, but his word, his conscience, and his trustworthiness.

What Is a Word?

Audio

Text

A word can wound;

a word can be a pearl.

Moral: With a word one can break a heart, and with a word one can win a heart. What turns a word into a pearl is how and where you say it.

Words and Silence

Audio
Image
Text

Sometimes a person says more by keeping quiet. Because words are not just sounds — they are a mirror of intention.

If a word will break a heart, if a sentence will extinguish hope — it is not worth saying.

If the words you are going to say will not warm a heart, if they will not cause a smile — be silent.

Remember... not every word blooms. Some are like thorns — they hurt the one who touches them.

Silence is wisdom. Sometimes it is the most valuable answer.

Words spoken from the heart turn into wisdom. Words spoken without thought cause harm and open a wound.

Silence. Because silence also speaks — sometimes more deeply, sometimes more honestly.

Moral: Not every word blooms; some hurt like thorns. Silence is wiser than words that will not bring good.

Call the Shepherd

Audio
Image
Text

A student who wanted to complete the education he had pursued for many years asked his master for a blessing.

The master replied:

“All right, but I have one condition. I will ask you a question, to see how you have taken in what I taught you over these years. If you answer correctly, I will know my effort was not wasted and I will give you my blessing.”

The student said confidently:

“Ask me, Master.”

The master said:

“Imagine you are returning to your village when a shepherd’s pack of rabid dogs attacks you. You are face to face with danger. What will you do to save your life?”

“I’ll throw stones to drive them away.”

“You may throw a stone at one and at a second, but you cannot deal with all of them. They will join together and tear you apart.”

“Then I’ll run.”

“Be sure they will run faster than you and catch you. What then?”

The student realized that he was helpless and asked his master for help.

The master explained:

“My child, there is only one way out of this: you must call the shepherd and ask him to hold his dogs. The moment they hear his voice, they will freeze where they stand.”

Moral: Not every problem can be solved by force. Sometimes taking a step back and looking at it differently is the shortest way out.
